The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) is the UK’s leading professional recruitment industry body. Originally set up in 1999 as the Association of Technical Staffing Companies (ATSCo) the recent change of name reflects the expanded remit and membership of the association to include organisations engaged in the acquisition of business professionals on behalf of clients, either on a permanent or flexible basis.
- APSCo’s mission is to ensure that its members offer the highest possible standards of trading practice and that it promotes excellence throughout the professional staffing industry
- APSCo facilitates the exchange of professional and regulatory information between Industry members and related bodies and serves as the authoritative source of information (other than statistical) concerning the professional recruitment industry.
- APSCo provides a recognised stamp of quality assurance. Members have access to business intelligence, use of the APSCo logo along with a wide range of services and benefits.
- For membership and accreditation, members are rigorously referenced, must adhere to a strict Code of Conduct and are re-audited annually.
- APSCo has close and ongoing relationships with key government departments and agencies including the Treasury, the DTI and the DBERR.
- At an international level APSCo actively promotes overseas business opportunities for members and takes a proactive role in Western and Eastern Europe in relation to EU directives and regulations.
As a recruitment consultancy Vertical IT takes its responsibility to clients and candidates very seriously and uphold the APSCo code of conduct across all areas of its business. Managing Director of Vertical IT, James Kelly said, “As a founding member of APSCo we know that the organisation has an implicit understanding of the fundamental issues that professional recruitment companies face. APSCo is at the forefront of supporting the recruitment industry and offers very practical benefits to its members. “Our membership of APSCo should not only give our clients and candidates peace of mind but will also ensure that we maintain the high standards of service, not only that we have set, but also those set by our trade association and the government." |
